Congressman Gonzalez Announces $4.7 Million for Brownsville Hybrid Electric Bus Fleet

On June 27, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) has awarded the City of Brownsville a $4,738,886 million federal grant through the Federal Transit Administration’s Low-and No-Emission program to support the procurement of hybrid electric buses. This funding was made possible by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), which Congressman Gonzalez helped enact last Congress.
