He stated: "Chief Rivera, thank you for your 25 years of service to law enforcement and your seven years of service as Weslaco’s Chief of Police. I wish you and your family all the best in your next endeavors!"
The following day, December 6, he attended a retirement celebration for Judge Mario Ramirez Jr., honoring his extensive career. Gonzalez remarked: "Team Gonzalez had the pleasure of attending the Honorable Mario Ramirez Jr.’s retirement celebration. Thank you, Judge Ramirez, for your 41 years of service to the 332nd District Court and our community. We celebrate you and your service!"
Later that same day, Rep. Gonzalez participated in a significant event at the Port of Brownsville related to infrastructure improvements funded by federal legislation he supported. He shared: "This morning, Team Gonzalez attended the groundbreaking for Phase 2 of the Brazos Island Harbor Channel Improvement Project at the Port of Brownsville. I was proud to vote for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which is helping fund this critical project."
