Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, serving Texas' 34th district in the U.S. Congress, shared several updates on social media over recent days, touching on community engagement and legislative efforts.

On February 14, Gonzalez celebrated Valentine's Day by acknowledging a successful turnout for the "Valentines for Vets" event. He expressed gratitude towards participants for showing appreciation to veterans, with a special mention to students from Stillman Middle School in Brownsville for their video messages. "Happy Valentine's Day, South Texas! We had great turn out for our Valentines for Vets! Thank you to everyone that participated in showing how much we care for our veterans. On February 15, Gonzalez addressed economic concerns by questioning Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell regarding measures being taken to lower interest rates specifically affecting South Texans. "This week, I questioned Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell on what the Fed is doing to lower interest rates for South Texans."

Two days later, on February 17, Gonzalez announced his collaboration with other representatives to re-introduce the Land Port of Entry Modernization Trust Fund Act. This legislation aims to enhance infrastructure at ports of entry critical to trade and tourism in South Texas.
