On November 19, 2024, Rep. Gonzalez announced federal funding for local traffic safety projects. He stated that "Proud to announce @USDOT awarded San Benito $232,000 and San Juan $176,000 to create a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan. This funding will enhance traffic safety and reduce roadway fatalities – a step forward in making our streets safer for everyone."
The following day, on November 20, 2024, he attended an event celebrating the partnership between the United States and El Salvador. Rep. Gonzalez expressed his appreciation by saying "I was honored to join my @SAL_Caucus colleagues and government officials from El Salvador in an unforgettable celebration of the partnership between our two nations.
