How many multiracial students were enrolled in Point Isabel ISD schools in 2022-23 school year?

There were 12 multiracial students enrolled in Point Isabel ISD schools in the 2022-23 school year, 20% more than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Data showed that Point Isabel ISD schools welcomed 1,930 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, multiracial students comprised 0.6% of the student body to be one of the least represented ethnicities in the district.

Point Isabel ISD roughly covers schools within Cameron County and has a main office in Port Isabel.

Among the five schools in Point Isabel ISD schools, Port Isabel High School recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of five students.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
