There were 10,355 students enrolled in Los Fresnos CISD schools in the 2021-22 school year, 1.7% less than the previous year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

Of all the students welcomed in the 2021-22 school year, 51.5% of them were boys, and 48.5% were girls.

Data also shows that the majority of students were Hispanic, representing 96.7% of the Los Fresnos CISD total enrollment.

Los Fresnos CISD roughly covers schools within Cameron County with its main office in Los Fresnos.

Among the 15 schools in Los Fresnos CISD, Los Fresnos High School recorded the highest enrollment of 3,197 students in the 2021-22 school year.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
