A partnership between Texas Southmost College and the Alliance Safety Council and Workforce Solutions Cameron developed a COVID-19 disinfection training program for local businesses.

With the state reopening, the COVID-19 Disinfection Specialist Training program is available to any small businesses in the TSC catchment area – including Cameron and Willacy counties – and intends to help establishments create a safe working environment for both employees and customers.

The class will cover the following topics:

  • appropriate methods to protect employees during cleaning, disinfection, and general operations;
  • how to properly use personal protective equipment;
  • how to prepare a cleaning and disinfection action plan;
  • how to execute specific cleaning and disinfection techniques; and
  • how to document completion of cleaning and disinfection processes
The program costs $249 per student and will be offered in English and Spanish.

Employees will receive a TSC certificate that can be displayed for the public to see while the business will get a decal telling customers that its workers have received proper COVID-19 disinfection training.
