CITY OF HARLINGEN: CAMCO Judge Issues 11th Amended Emergency Order

Court

City of Harlingen issued the following announcement on Jan. 6.

Effective today, January 5, 2021, Cameron County Judge Eddie Trevino, Jr. has signed the Eleventh Amended Emergency Management Order with specific indication of the lifting of the curfew imposed from the effective time frame from Friday, January 1, 2021 at 12:01 p.m. until today, January 5, 2021 in light of COVID-19 case counts and rate of transmissions due to holiday congregations. It remains a serious recommendation for individuals to avoid congregations with persons that are not immediate family household members and to abide by Governor Abbott's Executive Orders up to and including GA-32.

This Order continues the local disaster declaration and public health emergency for Cameron County and will be effective today, January 5, 2021 at 5:00 p.m. and will continue until February 5, 2020 at 12:01 p.m. unless extended, modified, or terminated early.

It is a reminder that area hospital capacity and staffing remain strained and personal safeguards such as the utilization of facial coverings by residents and visitors age ten years or older must continue, and social gatherings of more than 10 persons that are not members of a single family are prohibited unless authorized by the Mayor of a city if within city limits or by the County Judge if in the unincorporated areas of the County.

All bars and similar establishments must cease the sale of alcohol by 11:00 p.m. as required by GA-32, are allowed to open only up to 50% capacity in accordance with Governor Abbott's Executive Orders, and must adhere to the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission regulations and the Open Texas Checklist https:// gov.texas.gov/news/post/govemor-abbott-issues-executive-order-to-open-bars-inqualifying-counties-inTexas.

Furthermore, all commercial and business entities must comply with and adhere to all Executive Orders issued by Governor Abbott and should refer to the Open Texas Checklist. All public schools must adhere to the Texas Education Agency guidelines, the Texas Department of Health Services guidelines, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.

A failure to comply with any of the provisions in this Eleventh Amended Emergency Management Order constitutes an imminent threat to public health. As a reminder should the Trauma Service Area COVID-19 patients as a percentage of total hospital capacity in our Region exceed 15% for seven consecutive days, stricter measures may be ordered as per GA-32.
