The Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA) is accepting applications for the next round of Community Development Partnership Program grants.

According to an LCRA news release, the program has been made available to provide organizations with grants up to $50,000 to fund community projects located within LCRA’s service area, which includes Cameron County.

To qualify for grant funding, projects must improve the value of a capital asset by  building, renovating or purchasing equipment and must benefit or be  available to an entire community. Applicants must be able to supply at  least 20% of the project cost to receive more than $5,000 in grant  funding.

Examples of organizations eligible to apply for funding  include volunteer fire departments, emergency responders, local  governments, schools, libraries, civic groups, museums and other  nonprofit organizations.

Individuals, for-profit entities, professional associations, social service projects or limited-use facilities are not eligible.

Applicants can obtain eligibility requirements online or by calling the program administrator at 800-776-5272, ext. 3140. The deadline for applications is midnight Jan. 31.
