Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) has announced that Sahatya Valadez, a student at Brownsville’s James Pace Early College High School, is the winner of the 2023 Congressional Art Competition. Sahatya’s winning piece, “Enjoying My Elote”, will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol. This year, Congressman Gonzalez received a record number of entries, totaling 74 from 16 high schools in the 34th Congressional District of Texas.

On May 1, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-34) announced that four entities in the 34th Congressional District will receive a total of $11,057,999, in Water and Energy Efficiency Grants from the U.S. Department of Interior’s Bureau of Reclamation. The funds are part of the 2023 WaterSMART Grants funded through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act that Congressman Gonzalez voted for.
