Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, a U.S. Congressman from Texas, shared several updates on social media between August 11 and August 12, 2025, highlighting local law enforcement ceremonies, federal funding for education programs, and his stance on state redistricting efforts.

On August 11, Gonzalez posted about attending a ceremony with the Weslaco Police Department: “Team Gonzalez had the honor of attending the @WeslacoPD pinning ceremony for seven new officers and three rank promotions. We are proud to welcome these new officers and their commitment to making the City of Weslaco safer.”

Later that day, he addressed recent federal support for early childhood education in his district: “Proud to celebrate the over $20 million in funding to the NINO’s Head Start Program from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This funding will provide crucial services to our district and help thousands of students in Cameron and Willacy Counties reach their”.

On August 12, Gonzalez commented on political developments in Texas regarding redistricting: “I joined @TheRevAl and @VentonJonesTX to condemn the disgraceful and unethical redistricting attempt spearheaded by President Trump and Governor Abbott. I want to thank the Texas Democratic State Legislators who are standing strong against this blatant partisan power grab. They”.

Vicente Gonzalez has been an active figure in South Texas politics. In both 2022 and 2024, he won re-election against Mayra Flores—first with a margin of approximately eight percentage points in 2022 (52.7% to 44.3%), then narrowly again in 2024 with just over half of the vote (51.3% to 48.7%).
