Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 34th district since 2017, posted a series of messages on July 26, 2025, highlighting achievements in student nutrition programs and commemorating the United States Postal Service’s anniversary.
In one post from July 26, Gonzalez recognized efforts to provide nutritious meals for students during summer: “Every year, the USDA recognizes outstanding summer meal program sponsors nationwide who offer high quality, nutritious meals to students during the summer months. Thank you for everything you do and your dedication to our students and strengthening our communities!”
On the same day, he announced accolades received by local school districts: “I’m proud to announce that four school districts from #TX-34 have been awarded the ‘2024 Turnip the Beet!’ award and are Gold recipients – the highest recognition available!”
Later that evening, Gonzalez marked a milestone for a federal institution: “Today, we celebrate 250 years of trusted, secure communication through the United States Postal Service! The USPS has connected cities to the most rural communities – delivering letters, packages, prescriptions, ballots, and essential services with reliability and care.”
Vicente Gonzalez has served as representative for Texas’s 34th District since replacing Rubén Hinojosa in 2017. Born in Corpus Christi in 1967 and currently residing in McAllen at age 55, Gonzalez holds degrees from Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University (BA) and Texas Wesleyan University (JD).
