Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, U.S. Congressman representing Texas’s 34th District since 2017, posted updates on his recent activities and legislative priorities in a series of tweets on March 12 and 13, 2026.

On March 12, Gonzalez highlighted infrastructure improvements in Combes, Texas: “#TeamGonzalez joined the City of Combes on the groundbreaking of a new lift station generator and sewer manhole improvement project! This project will ensure our neighborhoods have the proper infrastructure to stay safe and resilient during severe weather.”

Later that day, he emphasized his ongoing commitment to local values and constituent engagement: “As your Congressman, my top priority is fighting for our South Texas values in Washington. Stay up to date with my work by subscribing to my newsletter:”

On March 13, Gonzalez addressed housing affordability challenges in South Texas and promoted pending legislation: “Owning a home has always been considered part of the American dream, but it remains out of reach for far too many South Texas families. My bipartisan bill , the MORE Opportunities for Homeownership Act, would fix this. By providing credit unions the same flexibilities as small”

Vicente Gonzalez was born in Corpus Christi in 1967 and currently resides in McAllen. He holds a BA from Embry–Riddle Aeronautical University (1992) and a JD from Texas Wesleyan University (1996). Gonzalez succeeded Rubén Hinojosa as representative of Texas’s 34th district beginning in 2017. In recent elections, he defeated Mayra Flores twice: once in 2022 with approximately 52.7% of the vote and again in 2024 with about 51.3%.
