Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, a U.S. Congressman who has won two consecutive general elections against Mayra Flores in 2022 and 2024, recently addressed several key issues on his official Twitter account.

On October 8, 2025, Gonzalez asked his followers about their concerns regarding the future of health coverage if tax credits under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) expire. He posted: “Are you worried about losing coverage if the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) tax credits expire? Let us know below:”.

Later that day, Gonzalez recognized Latina Equal Pay Day, emphasizing the importance of Latinas in the workforce. He stated: “Latinas play a vital role in our economy and communities, contributing across every industry. Recognizing Latina Equal Pay Day is a step toward ensuring all work is valued equally!” on October 8, 2025.

On October 9, 2025, Gonzalez commented on the release of hostages after a prolonged conflict in the Middle East. He wrote: “For two years, we’ve agonized over the fate of the hostages and I am so relieved they’ll finally be coming home. I am grateful this painful war is coming to an end and we can work to achieve the better future that Israelis and Palestinians both deserve. Now we must work with”.

Gonzalez represents a district where he narrowly defeated Mayra Flores in both 2022 and 2024 general elections—securing victories by slim margins each time. In 2022, he received approximately 52.7% of the vote compared to Flores’ 44.3%, while in 2024 he won with just over half of the votes at 51.3% to her 48.7%.
