Census Bureau reports South Padre Island population was 2,798 in 2020

South Padre Island had a population of 2,798 people in 2020, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the East RGV News.

The median age was 58, with 46.1 percent of the total population being female and 53.9 percent male.

The state's total population in 2020 was 28,635,442.
