School rankings recently put out by the Houston-based nonprofit Children At Risk placed several IDEA Public Schools network schools in the top 10 for the Rio Grande Valley.
The rankings this year looked at the overall situation during a three-year time period due to the special situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a press release. The purpose of Children At Risk is to advocate for change to benefit children with an emphasis on research, education and influencing public policy.
“I am so proud of our all of our school’s accomplishments,” JoAnn Gama, IDEA Public Schools CEO, said. “This year has been marred with trials and uncertainty, but one thing remains true–IDEA scholars will continue their path to college.”
In addition to having two college preparatory high schools and two middle school in the top 10, IDEA Public Schools also had a total of six high schools place in the top 25 for the region.
