City of Harlingen issued the following announcement on Nov. 28.
The first phase of Harlingen’s Destination Park is almost complete. Recently, we got a close up look at the new development on Fair Park Boulevard.
The park includes a beautiful entry court, a center plaza, a water feature, landscaping, improvements to L & L ½ streets, and a new parking lot.
The contractor has already finished most of the connecting sidewalks, along with the pavilion areas. The pergola at the fountain is also complete as is the parking lot. Most of the light features are also in place but the light company still needs to provide the power and of course, the landscaping still needs to be added.
But as you can see it’s coming along and sure looks beautiful. If weather permits the project will be complete in the next couple of months.
