Cost of college was unchanged for all students at the South Texas Vocational Technical Institute-Brownsville

Tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at the South Texas Vocational Technical Institute-Brownsville, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Texas students paid $18,360 to attend the private for-profit school in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Data shows 84 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 88 students received grants or scholarships totaling $324,643 and 83 students took out student loans totaling more than $513,200.

Including all undergraduates (491), 286 students used grants or scholarships totaling $1.1 million, and 236 students took out $1.3 million in federal student loans.
