Cost of college was unchanged for all students at Texas Southmost College

In-state tuition and fees were unchanged for 2018-19 at Texas Southmost College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Texas residents paid $4,398 to attend the two-year public institution in both the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Non-resident students would have paid 27.3 percent more than residents this year, or $5,598. Non-resident tuition and fees were unchanged from $5,598 in 2017-18.

100 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Texas residents.

Data shows 95 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 339 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.9 million and 67 students took out student loans totaling more than $270,712.

Including all undergraduates (7,130), 2,908 students used grants or scholarships totaling $12.6 million, and 917 students took out $3.5 million in federal student loans.
