Santa Rosa ranked first among cities in Texas by annual earnings per resident, according to data obtained from the U.S. Census Bureau in August.

The median income of Santa Rosa residents was an inflation-adjusted $14,777 per year. Santa Rosa had 750 households in 2017, with a population of 2,843.

The city with the highest median resident income in the state was Westlake. Westlake's median income was $92,857 per year after adjusting for inflation – $78,080 more than Santa Rosa. It had 311 households in 2017 and a population of 1,006.

Santa Monica had the lowest annual resident income among cities in Texas, with a median income of only $2,499 per year. That was $12,278 less than the median income in Santa Rosa at the time. Santa Monica had 23 households in 2017 and a population of 64.
