On December 11, 2024, Rep. Gonzalez announced that the City of Harlingen’s Police Department will receive $17,929 from the Department of Justice to enhance its field training officer program with advanced technology. This initiative aims to improve efficiency and safety in Harlingen. “I am excited to announce the City of Harlingen’s Police Department will be awarded $17,929 by @TheJusticeDept to modernize its field training officer program with advanced technology! These developments will allow the officers to work efficiently to keep Harlingen safe.”

On December 12, 2024, Rep. Gonzalez commemorated the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe, acknowledging her significance as the patron saint of Mexico and a source of guidance for many in South Texas and globally.
