Rep. Vicente Gonzalez, a U.S. Congressman from Texas, recently posted a series of updates on his official Twitter account addressing ongoing events and his office’s operations.
On September 30, 2025, Gonzalez commented on an incident involving NAS Kingsville, stating, “I am monitoring this situation and will be in touch with NAS Kingsville as more details emerge. I am relieved to learn that the pilot is ok.”
The following day, October 1, 2025, Gonzalez addressed the federal government shutdown, sharing his stance with a post that read, “My statement on the Republican Shutdown https://t.co/3CNmvjHf72”. Shortly after, he reassured constituents about his office’s continued service during the shutdown: “Despite Republican inaction to avoid a government shutdown, my office will continue operating under regular business hours. If you have any questions, or need assistance, please reach us at 956-682-5545 or 202-225-2531 https://t.co/jW0jDYenH3”.
Gonzalez has represented his district since defeating Mayra Flores in the 2024 general election with 51.3% of the vote. He also prevailed against Flores in the 2022 election, securing 52.7% of the vote.
